How to distinguish the quality of colored stainless steel plates

1、 First, let's look at the material: 

The commonly used materials for colored stainless steel plates include 304 normal material, 304 rolling material, 201 normal material, and 201 rolling material. Among them, 304 stainless steel plate has higher corrosion resistance than 201 stainless steel plate, and the normal material is smoother and brighter than the rolled material. Due to the large price difference, many merchants use substandard rolled materials to impersonate genuine materials, and 201 to impersonate 304. This leads to users using colored stainless steel plates for several months before they start to fade, rust, and even break. 

So, when we inspect the goods, the first thing we need to do is to verify whether the material of the board is the one you specified. 

201 and 304 can be distinguished by detection potions, while the quality of the positive material and the rolled material are mainly distinguished by observing the quality of the board surface. The surface of the positive material board is smooth and flat, with uniform color, high brightness, and consistent thickness of the entire board, while the rolled material board surface is dark, uneven in color, often with black or stripes, roller imprints on the back, multiple sand holes, peeling water marks, and other defects. The thickness difference of the board surface can reach 2 to 3 threads. 

But with the improvement of production technology and techniques in many large rolling plants, the gap between the normal material and the rolling material is gradually narrowing. Some imitation of the normal material board can even be confused with the real, requiring experienced professionals to distinguish. 

2、 Looking at the effect again: 

Colored stainless steel plates are mainly used in the field of decoration, with high requirements for the ornamental and decorative properties of the plate surface. 

When inspecting goods, it is necessary to carefully inspect and observe them. Good colored stainless steel plates should have no visible color difference under direct sunlight, and the entire batch of plates should have no color difference. 

Coloring is uniform, the color is good, there are no scratches or bends, and it does not fade. The surface of the mirror panel should be free of grinding marks and horseshoe prints, with high brightness. 

Of course, usually the better the quality of the board, the more expensive it is. For decoration fields with low requirements, the requirements for the board surface can also be reduced, and more economical and affordable decorative boards can be chosen. 

3、 Then peel off the film: 

Colored stainless steel plates are coated with a protective film before leaving the factory. 

Many unsold boards are left in the warehouse for a long time and the protective film becomes powdery, making it difficult to tear them off. Alternatively, after tearing them off, there is still a lot of adhesive on the surface of the boards, which is both unsightly and difficult to remove, making it time-consuming and labor-intensive. 

Even for transparent films, when inspecting goods, everyone must tear open a large piece to see the quality of the film. If it is necessary to cut and bend it into shape later, it is best to first apply a protective film with a temperature of 6C or above to avoid scratching the surface of the board. 

After the installation of the colored stainless steel plate, the film layer should be peeled off as soon as possible to avoid getting stuck with glue. Especially for outdoor decoration, due to direct sunlight, try to remove the protective film as soon as possible after construction.
