Precautions for Splitting Stainless Steel Roll Plate

The vast majority of stainless steel coil plates leave the factory in whole rolls, mainly for the convenience of transportation; Generally, in the hands of suppliers, for the convenience of use, they will use stainless steel flattening equipment to flatten the entire stainless steel coil. This process is called flattening, and the flattening process is most prone to problems such as scratches and insufficient length.
Stainless steel strip slitting refers to dividing a certain width of stainless steel strip into one or several strips according to the production requirements. The process of slitting is prone to problems such as scratches, uneven rolling, high burrs at the edges, insufficient width, collapse, edge waves, and knife bending. The problems that occur in the flattening and slitting of stainless steel coils, if severe, will directly affect the subsequent pipe making process, resulting in large size errors, rough surfaces, and insufficient straightness of the produced stainless steel pipes. Therefore, whether it is flattening or slitting, in order to obtain high-quality stainless steel materials, slitting and slitting are two common raw material processing steps that are indispensable in stainless steel processing.
Precautions for stainless steel coil slitting process
Improper operation or unexpected factors during the longitudinal cutting process can cause some quality problems. Commonly seen are surface bumps, scratch lines, creases, etc. Excluding raw material issues, components such as the pinch roller and measuring wheel of the slitting machine that come into direct contact with stainless steel coils may cause the above defects. The size requirements for slits are generally quite strict, and deviation or inaccurate cutting data during the processing can cause product size deviation.
Incorrect clearance or pressing during cutting can cause shear burrs, which should be particularly noted when welding pipe materials. Due to tension and other reasons during winding, uneven winding or deformation of the drum can indirectly cause defects in the product agent. Overall, stainless steel coils with a thickness of 0.4mm and below are more prone to the above quality issues.
